Resonanzen is a dynamic video and live sound installation by wittmann/zeitblom and René Liebert. As the third part of the award-winning three-part ‘Ulm Stories,’ ‘Resonances’ transformed the mighty nave of Ulm Cathedral into a unique light and sound landscape through 4000 sqm projections in front of 3000 spectators.
The work consists of a full 360° facade projection inside the building, realized by 8 PT-DZ21K projectors and 3 Pandoras Box based media servers, accompanied by the sound of a composition for electronics, percussion and organ. The scapes explore the question “How do we want to live in the future?” and address the motives for change.
A particular device is the performativity of the work. The video is rhythmically built on live music and can be seen symbiotically with it. Light and theme changes occur in time, musical and visual themes complement each other and merge into a dynamic overall experience.
‘Ulm Stories’ is a production of Interactive Media Foundation Berlin GmbH and won the Silver Medal of the Annual Multimedia Awards 2018 in the category Terminal/Installation.
