STAAT IV

360° Projection
We have been supporting the internationally active performance collective Rimini Protokoll in various constellations for years. In many of the projects, we not only get to the bottom of visual ideas in the stage design itself, but also understand them as holistic spatial-visual concepts, in which video plays a key role.
For the project Staat IV we were commissioned to technically realize a 360° projection. Actors as well as spectators are enclosed by a 4.8 m high banner, which is used as a full projection surface. 8 projectors in interaction with a control computer, two media servers and a backup computer provide 13000-pixel image width on a screen surface of 28 sqm. Using software mapping and the dynamic camera offset of the Pandoras Box tool, we created a continuous image progression that is homogeneous and seamless even in the short viewer perspective caused by the room concept.
